We have established rapport with the best mills and shops in the UK, from which we are able to obtain swatch books that contain hundreds of choices of fabrics, for you to choose from.
We also have a rotating selection of finest fabrics to display in our shop for you to see and feel.
For ladies’ tweed boucle suits, we offer Linton Tweeds, that are renowned as the original 'Chanel' fabric makers.
All our suits are constructed with a full horse-hair canvas which holds the shape of the suit to prevent sagging or deformation. Canvassed jackets give the perfect look and add a durability that exceeds anything else.
This is in complete contrast to a mass-produced suit that has a glue-impregnated interlining known as a fusible which can have the unfortunate habit of parting company with the cloth after dry cleaning, leaving tell-tale bubbles down the front of the jacket.
Our process begins with you
Our design consultations give us the chance to talk through the intricate details of your order. We’ll offer as much or as little guidance as you’d like in crafting the perfect design for you. We cover everything from colour and materials to buttons and linings to ensure no detail is missed, no matter how small.
During your first appointment, your measurements will be taken. Every order is for the individual so naturally the fit should be too.
From there, we will create a unique pattern for you based on your choices. From that pattern, we will construct a basic, partially-complete garment which enables us to check the fit is just as you wanted it.
Soon you will be invited for a first fitting, where you can try on your custom suit for the first time. It will be temporarily stitched together with white basting thread and may not look like much, but will still feel like it was made for you.
Now that you can visualise the item while worn, we’ll have the chance to alter the look if you decide you’re not happy with any aspect.
When the first fitting is complete we can take the garment back and factor any adjustments you have advised us upon as well as make any corrections to sizing.
After a few weeks, you will be invited for a second fitting, where the garment will be closer to the finished product. Depending on the garment we may invite you for further fittings, but usually we are then able to take your garment to completion.
Finally, you will be invited to return for a final fitting to ensure that you are delighted with the final product, your bespoke garment is never complete until you give it your seal of approval.
Bespoke suits will take around 6 to 8 weeks to finish.
